Baaath Time has been offering a range of hand made goats milk soaps and bath products since 2010 - Now the story has moved from Worcestershire to Cornwall with milk from our own British Alpines and other local goats.
As a mother of four girls Lisa first stumbled upon the benefits of goats milk when her eldest child developed eczema. It soon transpired that she was ‘cows milk intolerant’ and a switch to goats milk soon rectified her skin complaint. She decided to cut out the middle man and buy her own herd of goats – the goats produced far more milk than they could consume as a family so she explored other health uses for it, much research, testing, legislation, meeting with regulations and deciding on wrapping, labels etc and Its Baaath Time was born .
Why Goats milk soap?
Goats milk is almost the same PH as human skin so by using it in soap you have a product that is not only mild but full of goodness that leaves your skin moisturised and healthy. It also contains lactic acid (which breaks down dead skin cells helping skin to rejuvenate) as well as being packed with vitamins ( A, C and B )and other nutrients that all combine together to help with skin repair and wrinkle reduction!
Sufferers of skin complaints such as psoriasis, eczema & dermatitis have found goats milk soap alleviates their symptoms greatly and as such is endorsed by many of the charities. We do not claim that it is a miracle cure though.
Its Baaath time products really are handmade from start to finish – goats are milked the ‘old fashioned’ way, twice a day, rain or shine and the oils are sourced from the very best suppliers. The soap kitchen is where all soap making takes place. We then leave the soap to cure for between 4 to 6 weeks so that it is firm and very mild.
All of our products are SLS and Parabens free (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) is a chemical found in many shampoos, conditioners, toothpaste, bubble baths etc.It has been found to irritate sensitive skin. Parabens are common preservatives which can also cause irritation.
We do not use artificial colours or fragrances in any of our soaps, instead we blend the finest essential oils and use natural colours such as beetroot, nettle, alkanet root and madder root.
We NEVER use palm oil in our soaps due to the impact of non-sustainable sources on the rain forest and in turn, the orang-utan population.(you can read more on our page 'Why we say no to palm oil')
We recommend that you use each baaa of soap within 6 months of opening it and that you use a soap rack or ladder that allows the air to fully circulate the bar, this will help to prolong the life of your soap.
